There are Wilson cell phone and air card antenna adapters for over 500 mobile models. They are approximately 18″ long. One end, FME Male, connects to the antenna cable. The other end connects to your cell phone.

Unless it is a very old mobile-phone, it does not connect to the charge port on the bottom of the phone.

Back Plug

Plugs into the adapter port on the upper back portion of your phone. A rubber or plastic plug may need to be removed. Press firmly to ensure a good connection – do not twist. Using too much force could damage your phone

Back Plug With Top Replacement Antenna

(Figures 1 & 2) Unscrew your original antenna which is blocking the adapter port – may have reversed threads. (Figure-3) Screw your included replacement antenna into the top of the phone. Your antenna adapter will now fit into the back of the phone – see above for Back Plug instructions

Bottom Plug

Plugs into the bottom of your cellphone. Push until you hear a click. Press button(s) in middle or on sides to release connecter from phone. Note: an RF charger may be available for your phone – it will allow you to charge your phone while using your external antenna.

No words that 4G cell phone signal boosters internet speed is really great as well as battery discharging speed but who knows, maybe in near future we will find more usable phones for reasonable prices.

The term 4G appears to be the “buzz” word for Q4 of 2010. So what is it? 4G refers to the fourth generation of cellular wireless standards. It is an heir to 3G and 2G standards, with the goal of providing a wide range of data rates, up to ultra-broadband (gigabit), to mobile as well as stationary users. Pre-4G technology is currently being deployed in a number of major US markets. The purpose of this article is to inform you of what 4G is and is not and how cell phone signal boosters will integrate with 4G.

The term 4G is a little confusing, but I will try to break it down as simply as possible. As defined by ITU-R (International Telecommunication Union – Radiocommunications sector) 4G is to provide data rates of up to 100Mbps for mobile devices and up to 1Gbps for stationary devices. Current networks marketed as 4G are not truly 4G. Verizon’s 4G LTE network, which is to roll out in 38 major cities by the end of the year and cover roughly 100 million people, will only support 5-12Mbps on the downlink. While this is a far cry from the required 100Mbps to be considered true 4G it is still roughly 5 to 10 times better than the average 1Mbps downlink currently available with EV-DO. Sprint’s 4G network, based on WiMAX, offers realistic download speeds of roughly 4 Mbps. Again, not true 4G. True 4G speeds are not expected to be reached until the release of LTE-Advanced for Verizon, AT&T, and others or WiMAX 2 for Sprint. These true 4G technologies are still in ITU approval process are not expected to be deployed for at least another 2-3 years.

Thinking about purchasing a dual band cell phone signal booster but not sure about how 4G will fit into the picture? Because almost all commercially sold dual band cell phone signal boosters today work in the 850 and 1900 MHz range, they will not work with emerging 4G LTE or WiMAX technologies, which are 700 MHz (Verizon 4G and eventually AT&T 4G) and 2.5GHz (Sprint 4G) respectively. They will also not work with the AWS 1700MHZ and 2100MHz frequencies used by T-Mobile 3/4G. However, here are some points to consider if you’re thinking about purchasing a cell phone signal booster but are on the fence about how 4G fits into the picture:

4G and the new frequency bands will be used mostly for data, with voice still being transmitted in the 850MHz or 1900MHz range. If you use your phone as a phone and don’t have a data plan or use Wi-Fi for data, you don’t have to worry about the booster not working or becoming obsolete. This may not be the case with all carriers so it is best to call your carrier and see what frequencies they use for voice in your specific area.

4G is not compatible with 3G or older phones. You will need to purchase a new phone if you plan on taking advantage of 4G data speeds. However, 4G phones will be backwards compatible with 3G networks, so if you travel outside of your 4G city you will still have access to 3G data speeds.

Slow 4G rollout. According to Verizon’s website, they do not plan on having 4G coverage to match their existing 3G coverage for another 3 years. If you live in a rural area and don’t currently have 3G coverage, you shouldn’t expect 4G coverage for at least another 2 – 3 years if at all. AT&T is still focusing on upgrading its 3G network and does not plan on rolling out 4G LTE until sometime in 2011, and just like with Verizon, you’d better plan on waiting a while longer if you don’t live in a major metropolitan area.

Limited 4G phone selection. Most of the demand for 4G is coming from businesses, not consumers. With that in mind, carriers will be focusing on developing reliable 4G laptop solutions before focusing on affordable 4G phones for consumers. Expect maybe 1 or 2 phone models per carrier to choose from until 4G has been fully deployed.

If you came across this article you more than likely do not live in a major metropolitan area, as big cities generally have excellent cell phone coverage, and you wouldn’t be searching for information on cell phone signal boosters. So you’d like to purchase an installed cell phone signal booster, but want to make sure that you’re not going to have to replace your $300+ investments in another couple years? It is safe to say that if you do not live in a major metropolitan area and you do not currently have 3G in your area, or it took your carrier a couple years to get 3G coverage to you, a dual band 850MHz/1900MHz cell phone signal booster will not become obsolete any time soon.

Additionally, while there are band specific amplifiers on the market, I am currently not aware of any tri-band or quad-band boosters that will work with all carriers and all data technologies. Inevitably, as 4G LTE and WiMAX start to catch on, cell phone signal booster manufacturers will start developing compatible boosters. You simply can’t defeat physics and no matter what new cell phone technology emerges there will always be a need for cell phone signal boosters for some people.

Unfortunately, if you plan on jumping on the 4G bandwagon as soon as it comes to your area and find that your signal boosters strength isn’t what you hoped it would be there currently isn’t much you can do to improve your 4G data. You’ll just have to wait until cell phone booster manufacturers release an affordable multi-band booster. On the plus side, if you already have a dual band booster installed in your home, the cabling used to connect your antennas to your amplifier will be compatible with 4G boosters. Just purchase a new 4G booster and antennas (once available) that are specified for your existing cable (usually either 75 Ohm Coax or 50 Ohm Coax) and you’re good to go. There is no need to spend hours running new cable.

You have probably heard mention of the cellphone signal amplifier before, but do you know what it really does? If you don’t, you are missing out on something pretty great. One of the biggest complaints that people have with their cellular phones is that they have a hard time getting the signal they need in order to have a clean, clear and crisp phone call. Now, if you are right near a cellphone tower, then you probably do not have this problem. However, for everyone else, this is something that can be a real disturbance on a daily basis.

The phone amplifiers make sure that the signal that is being received and sent is increased, making it easier for you and the other person on the line. Still not sure how this would work? Imagine an old fashioned radio with an antenna. Imagine that you are trying to tune into your favorite station with the antenna down. Now, extend that antenna and all the sudden you are able to hear everything perfectly. The cellphone signal amplifier works in the same manner as the antenna on the old fashioned radio.

When you start shopping for the phone amplifiers, you will find that there are various types of options for you to pick from. Mainly, the difference is in the size of the cellphone signal amplifier. This is because the larger ones will be able to boost the power more while the smaller ones will not boost the power as much.

There is also the option of attaching the cellphone signal amplifier to your vehicle. This way, you will not have to attach it to your phone, but it will always help you increase the power boost when you are in the vehicle. This is perfect for those who normally have great reception but when they travel in their car or truck, they lose it. You will have the amplifier in the vehicle and it will be wired to an antenna that is attached to the outside of the vehicle.

Once you are ready to start shopping for your cellphone signal amplifier, you will want to make sure that you are taking the time to shop around for a good bit. You want to make sure that you are only considering the phone amplifiers that are made by a quality company and that are within your price range. Remember though, you can’t judge the quality of the cellphone signal amplifier by the price alone.

After you start to get used to using your new cellphone signal amplifier, you will find that you simply do not like making calls without it. You will be able to hear the difference between the phones that use phone amplifiers and the phones that do not use them. Before you know it, all of your friends and family will be asking you about the amplifier you are using because they too are sick and tired of having poor reception, especially for all of the important calls they make.

A broadband internet phone service uses your high speed internet to connect and make phone calls. This is further made possible by a technology which will make use of the internet service that can connect to your phone. The internet phone makes voice calls easier to make as well as, in most cases, more affordable.

Hardware will be used to connect your phone and your internet connection to result in a broadband service. This may only be possible if you are using fast enough connections. For those who use dial up connections as well as satellite or other wireless services, an internet phone or a VoIP service may not be possible. These types will not be able to allow you to connect fast enough in order to allow quality voice calls.

Ideally, what are needed can be digital connections or DSL and a cable modem service. Most broadband services will allow these two connections for voice calls as they are fast enough.

There may be some internet providers which will allow you to use a broadband internet phone service with slower connections. But, there may also be those which won’t be able to give you phone services even if you have DSL or a cable modem. So, it is important that even before you subscribe to their services, you need to make sure that you can get phone services if you really need them.

Broadband phone plans are available in most providers with the use of subscription plans. These can be on top of your monthly internet plans or included in them. Ask your internet provider to be sure. Look at different plans from different providers. Check which one will be able to give you the most advantageous services as well as one which will be affordable to you.

Look at the features. There may be those which will include unlimited calls or just several free minutes. The calls that you can make are usually international. Both the local and international calls that you will make may have the same charges. If you cannot get an unlimited call service, at least choose one that has the highest amount of free minutes of calls.

Above the free calls that you have or after you have consumed your usage amount, normal call rates may apply.

A broadband phone may be less reliable as one that uses the standard telephone lines. Although downtimes may occur, these are not very often and will only be a minor problem that you have to face. You just need to find a reliable provider. If your internet service is good enough with less downtimes, the broadband internet phone service will be good enough as well.

Meklēsim iespēju uzlabot sakaru rādiusu no otras puses- varbūt var ko darīt ar mūsu ikdienas neatņemamā līdzgaitnieka- Iphone, Blackberry, Nokia, Samsung, LG, Sony Ericsson u.c. mobilo telefonu.

Ever missed a call because your phone was in and out of service and it only rang once before going to voicemail? Constantly having to go to windows or outside to make a call? Tired of playing the “Can you hear me now?” game? With more and more people opting to do away with their landline, reliable call quality and carrier service has never been more important. So what can you do to improve your reception and stop dropping calls?

Let us start by defining the two technologies. Most wireless cell phone signal boosters (also called amplifiers and repeaters) work by capturing the signal outside, amplifying it, and then redistributing it inside. This is done through 3 major pieces: an outside antenna (either directional or omni-directional), the amplifier, and the inside antenna (either directional or omni-directional). The outside signal can be weak or strong, but must be present in order for the booster to operate properly. In general, the weaker the signal outside, the more gain the amplifier needs to provide in order to offer adequate coverage inside. Femtocells are basically miniature cell phone towers, about the size of a wireless router, that are provided by your wireless carrier and are installed in your home to provide coverage of up to a 40′ radius. They are essentially a Wi-Fi router for cellular and PCS frequencies. Information is transmitted wirelessly from your phone to the femtocell, then from the femtocell to the carrier via your broadband internet connection.

Now let’s get down to the purpose of this article. The easiest way to decide which product is right for you is to take a look at the comparisons below.

Connectivity

Booster: Dual Band models work with virtually all carriers except Nextel and other iDEN push-to-talk networks, although there are boosters made specifically for Nextel.

Femtocell: Only works with one specific service provider. Ex. You are a Verizon Wireless subscriber. Provided there is little coverage by all carriers in your current location, installing a Verizon Network Extender will help you out but don’t plan on your AT&T friends raving about excellent coverage when they stop over to watch the game.

Data

Booster: Dual Band models work with data plans for all carriers using 850/1900 MHz for their data. This is most carriers, but does not include T-Mobile 3G

Femtocell: Supported data rates vary by carrier. Some femtocells do not support data at all. Ex. Verizon’s Network Extender currently only supports 1X CDMA, not EVDO or 3G. Generation 1 of Sprint’s Airwave only supports 1X CDMA, not EVDO or 3G. AT&T’s microcell supports 3G data, but only works with 3G phones.

Multiple Users

Booster: Most dual band wireless models support more than a handful of users so everyone can be talking or surfing at the same time.

Femtocell: Depends on the carrier. Sprint’s AIRWAVE allows up to 3 simultaneous users. Verizon’s Network Extender supports up to 3 simultaneous users. AT&T’s Microcell supports up to 4 simultaneous users.

Bandwidth

Booster: N/A

Femtocell: Prepare to allot anywhere from 40Kbps to 300kbps of your upload and download bandwidth depending on the number of active calls / data sessions.

Cost

Booster: Basic Dual Band home coverage kits can start as low as $325

Femtocell: Anywhere ranging from free (with a subscription to unlimited calling), to $99 with a $5/mo fee, to a $250 one time fee.

Installation

Booster: Installation of most cell phone signal boosters can be completed in anywhere from 1 to 4 hrs.. Mounting the outside antenna, mounting the inside antenna and running the cabling between everything is the most time consuming. Amplifier and internal antenna placement are completely flexible.

Femtocell: Physically easier to install – requiring just a simple Ethernet connection to your existing router. However, most require a GPS lock in order to activate and confirm location, so it is advised to install next to a window. However, it is also advised that they be placed in a central location for best coverage. Raise your hand if you have windows located in the center of your home?

Boot Up Time

Booster: N/A – once the amplifier is powered on you can make and receive calls.

Femtocell: Some femtocells require up to 60 minutes to set up and stabilize for the first time. Subsequent power cycles take 10-15 minutes to stabilize.

Call Hand-Off

Booster: N/A – a cell phone signal booster is an extension of the outside tower so you are essentially already connected to it when making and receiving calls. There is no hand-off to take place. If you are connected to a tower as you’re driving up your street, you’ll be connected to the same tower once in your home (just with a stronger signal)

Femtocell: Seamless call transfer to the tower as you leave the femtocell coverage area, but you’re going to have to hang up and re-dial if you’re entering the coverage area.

In summary, if you live in an area with absolutely no cell coverage, only affiliate with people who are using the same carrier as you, don’t mind giving up some of your already-paid-for broadband bandwidth, will never have a need for 3 or more people to be on the phone at the same time and don’t mind saying “I’ll have to call you back, I’m at home now” then a femtocell might just be the solution for you. However, if you want to provide great cell and data coverage to just about anyone who enters your home (regardless of carrier), value your already precious bandwidth, and don’t mind rolling up your sleeves for a few hours to do the installation, then an installed Cell Phone Signal Booster may be the right solution for you.

Mobile vehicle antennas are gaining popularity these days due to increase the signal reception inside a vehicle. Are you a frequent traveller? If so you must definitely get an antenna that may aid you in maintaining an excellent communication. There has been a rise in the signal range of about 60% with the help of the mobile vehicle antenna.

The antenna is omnidirectional and hence it can perceive the signals in different directions and transmit them. They are portable with a magnetic base that can be fixed in any part of the vehicle based on the available space. The main advantage of the mobile vehicle antenna is that you need not spend your time screwing or drilling in order to fix it up. The antenna comes along with a cable wire of around 5 metres long. The antenna can be easily plugged on to the USB modem and hence you need not buy any additional products for its usage.

The most important thing you need to look before buying a mobile vehicle antenna is its compatibility. You need to check whether it is compatible with the sim you use. Most of the antennas are compatible with vodafone, virgin, O2, Huawei and orange. Hence it is very essential to know about the compatibility and usage of every antenna before you buy. The antenna is very easy and quick to use. All you need to do is to assemble the antenna and the connector inside the vehicle. The antennas are available in different frequencies.

There are different forms and types of mobile vehicle antenna based on the needs and requirements. Whip antenna and antenna tuners are also used to maximize the signals and connectivity range in the vehicle. The whip antenna is either single or split based on the usage and is manufactured out of rugged glass. They are most commonly used along with an antenna tuner for maximum coverage. They can be used for an efficient operation between 4 to 40 kHz. You can get a flexible antenna based on your preferences and needs at the various stores online.

The mobile vehicle antenna can be bought from popular stores and shops. Many shops online sell them for a cheaper price. Generally the price of the antenna may vary from 35$ to 60$. Shipping is done free of cost in most of the online shops. All you need to do while shopping is to make sure you get the right mobile vehicle antenna. Don’t forget to check for quality and its compatibility. Make sure you get an antenna which has a warranty minimum for at least one year. This would help you to mitigate your risks when you buy an antenna.

It’s the end of June, shortly going to be the beginning of July and we all know what that means! A new iPhone model is about to become available to consumers today, the 24th of June. Already the iPhone has its share drama surrounding it, some of it started as early as April of 2010. In early April, Gizmodo editor Jason Chen acquired a then secret iPhone 4 prototype model from an unnamed source for a sum of $5,000. Gizmodo.com held extensive coverage of the iPhone 4 and even was mentioned on large news networks like FoxNews, CNN and MSNBC. His house was later raided by the California Rapid Enforcement Allied Computer Team and had his computers seized. The reason for the raid on his home was something to do with industrial espionage; but how could you be guilty of that if all you are doing is buying something? You’re not stealing it so what’s the problem. Then when the iPhone was available for pre-order online, the system crashed after over 600,000 preorders had been registered. Not only that, AT&T’s systems were suffering from security breaches and people were accessing other people’s accounts accidentally, and being able to view and edit other customer’s information. There were reports of AT&T stores being closed over the amount of people trying to preorder and the stress of AT&T’s system being overloaded. Finally, after hours of confusion and errors, AT&T and shut down the pre order system. Mashable reporter Sam Axon reported being mugged while standing in line for the iPhone 4 earlier today in Chicago. His tweet on Twitter was as follows "I was just mugged while waiting in line for the iPhone 4. Not kidding." What is this world coming to? And finally, It turns out that you can bridge two antenna with your finger and that will cause the phone to drop calls. The solution is as simple as a tiny piece of scotch tape, or put the phone in a case. It’s an easy fix, but for $500 should this really be an issue? There is also verifiable evidence that the screen of the iPhone 4 has issues with yellow pixels, bands and splotches on the screen from normal use. Most likely Apple will not repair the problem for free and will claim that the user damaged the LCD themselves. Again, should this be an issue at release or should it have been fixed before the extremely expensive device was sold to the public? Apple has a history of releasing cutting edge products, but with the knowledge that the iPhone 4 was going to be as popular as it is they should have put more thought and time into testing and development. It’s far easier to deal with design problems before you put item into mass production than it is to deal with them after the consumer has purchased the item. Maybe Apple will learn a valuable lesson from this release.

Choosing the right cell phone antenna can make a substantial difference in your cell phone’s signal reception. In fact, some antennas can provide up to a 13 dBi gain. Understanding how the antenna will connect to your phone, the difference between directional and omni-directional antennas, and how to choose one that works with your service provider will make all the difference when purchasing a cell phone antenna.

1) How the external antenna will connect to your phone: Many phones have an external antenna port on the back that can either plug into a car kit with an external antenna connection or can be used with an external antenna adapter. When these options are available, any external antenna tuned to the frequencies the phone uses are an option (limited only by where the antenna will be used as discussed below).

The current trend with cell phone manufacturers is to not add the external antenna port as they are moving away from car kits due to Bluetooth technology. When the phone does not have an external antenna port, the only option is a wireless amplified repeater kit. Over the past few years there have been a number of products advertised as working on phones without an external antenna port. One of the most recent examples was a signal boosting sticker you attach to the back of the phone. Regrettably, none of these products have proven to provide any signal benefit at all. As a result, there is not an inexpensive way on the market at the moment to increase signal strength in these cell phones.

2) Omni-directional and directional antennas: Omni-directional antennas pick up the signal in a full 360 degree radius, and so should be installed in a vertical position in the area of strongest signal. Directional antennas, however, pick up the signal in only one direction. This type of antenna is designed for use on stationary objects such as buildings. It should be mounted above tree lines and pointed directly toward the nearest cell tower. The main benefit of a directional antenna is its ability to focus its signal in one direction. If the antenna is not aimed correctly it will lose its effectiveness.

3) Choosing an antenna that works with your service provider: When purchasing 1000 a new antenna, be sure it is compatible with your provider’s phone frequency. For instance, while the same model of phone may be offered by Verizon and AT&T, and therefore the same antenna provided, each service provider has its own frequency. Even though the Verizon antenna may fit in the AT&T phone (and vice versa), it will not provide any signal due to its tuning to a different set of frequencies.

Almost all service providers use frequencies compatible with Dual Band/Tri-Mode antennas; the exception is Nextel. Dual-band antennas work with two frequencies, and while one of the frequencies usually supports Nextel phones, it is best to purchase an antenna that is made to support just Nextel phones. This will assure more consistent, quality signal reception.

Knowing how the antenna will connect to your phone, the difference between omni-directional and directional antennas, and how to choose one that works with your service provider is essential when purchasing an external antenna. Having the right antenna can result in a gain of up to13 dBi. Understanding how antennas work will allow you to purchase the correct antenna and therefore optimize your phone’s ability to receive signals.

Recently released, the Apple iPhone 4 is already Apple’s greatest sales achievement. Throughout the UK and US they are currently selling fast, but what about the iPhone 4 makes it so special? Let’s take a look at what this phone has over the competition.

Features

First there is the new "retina" display, boasting an eye popping 960×640 resolution screen with 326ppi (pixels per inch). This new screen shows sharper text and the clearest video of any phone out there. The new display also enables great angle viewing and is able to display 720p high definition video.

In addition to showing great video, the new iPhone 4 also takes great videos as well. While the new 5mp camera may not have the highest megapixel count out there, the software is what enables crystal clear pictures and video. Also with the addition of an LED flash your videos and pictures in low light come out clear as day.

The other great addition to the video capabilities of the new Apple iPhone 4 is a front facing camera. This addition allows video calls using a new feature called FaceTime. While it’s now only available for iPhone 4 to iPhone 4 calls it is a very cool feature that over the coming months will surely expand to include other phones and features in the future.

Internal Hardware

Now that we’ve looked at the new features you can see on the outside let’s look at what makes this phone outperform its competitors, the internal hardware. The new Apple iPhone 4 offers some of the most advanced hardware of any phone on the market.

The greatest hardware advancement in the new iPhone 4 is the processor, featuring Apple’s A4 chip it boasts speeds of 1ghz which is 400mhz faster than the iPhone 3GS. Also helping speed up the new iPhone is 512mb of ram compared to the iPhone 3GS’s 256mb. Just using the phone for a few minutes you can tell the amazing speed of the new handset.

One of the biggest complaints about most phones is the battery, and the Apple iPhone 4 features a battery that lasts 40% longer than the previous iPhone 3GS. While making the battery bigger and more powerful Apple also made the phone thinner, 24% thinner than the iPhone 3GS.

What helped enable the new iPhone 4 to be thinner than previous models was the new antenna design that integrated the phones antenna into the stainless steel band that runs along the edges of the phone. In addition to the glass front and back panels this new phone looks futuristic compared to other handsets.

Overall

Overall the Apple iPhone 4 is the greatest handset Apple has ever produced and their best selling product ever. With sales already in the 2 million range and stores struggling to keep them in stock worldwide, it will be a while before this phone is readily available everywhere.

With the new features and hardware the new iPhone is capable of more than ever at much faster speeds. The new antenna design also has shown to get better reception and the integrated Wireless N technology enables the fastest Wi-Fi speeds yet.

So if you can find one snap it up, there’s no telling how demand will affect availability and this is not a phone you’ll want to miss out on.
